Kim's insurance career began in 1978. Since 1985 she has specialized in working closely with professional firms to design insurance and risk management programs to meet their unique needs.

In 1988, Kim was a founding principal and helped establish Professional Concepts Insurance Agency, Inc. (PCIA). Through Kim's leadership and management, PCIA has grown to serve a clientele of over 1000 professional firms.

Kim is a past member of the ACEC MI Risk Management Committee.  She currently serves on the AIA Michigan Summer Conference Committee. In 2004, the Society of Marketing Design Professional Services (SMPS)-Michigan announced the selection of Kim Fricke as a member of its Board of Influence. In 2003, AIA Michigan honored Kim by naming her an Honorary Affiliate member. Kim is a past President and member of the national association Professional Liability Agents Network (PLAN) – an association dedicated to the risk management needs of design professional firms. On behalf of her clients and industry groups Kim participates on a regular basis in the facilitation of contract and engagement letter negotiations.

She has been invited to give numerous speeches and seminars for various professional associations and has taught risk management on an ad hoc basis at major universities in Michigan. Various industry publications have requested interviews, published written articles, and have frequently quoted Kim's comments and recommendations on specific industry issues, i.e., professional liability - including team project professional liability, design/build, partnering, dispute resolution and general business advice.

Kim is married to Cody Young and they enjoy showing their cutting horses in their spare time.

Mike represents many of PCIA’s largest clients, providing risk management consultation, educational seminars, and contract reviews from an insurability and risk management standpoint. Mike serves the professional associations of his clients by donating his time and expertise when and where needed. Mike has served as Co-Chair and Chair of the Engineering Excellence Awards Committee for ACEC/MI and MSPE. He is also the Vice Chair of the Risk Management Committee for ACEC/MI, and a member of the AIA Membership committee. Mike has also served as Treasurer for the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) MI.

Mike began his insurance career with PCIA in 1990 as a summer intern. A graduate of Olivet College, Mike received his B.A. in Business with an Insurance concentration. At Olivet College he studied risk management and insurance techniques, specializing in commercial property and liability coverage.

Mike has a beautiful bride, Allison Marie Cosgrove.Allison is an elementary school teacher. Mike and Allison were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Kennedy Paige, in 2003. Mike and Allison both agree that Kennedy is sweet and sassy at the same time. The family enjoys spending their spare time living in Livingston County.

 

Debra’s professional insurance career began in 1985 when she developed and then serviced the national employee benefits program for McDonald’s Owner and Operator Licensee program on behalf of Marsh & McLennan.

Debra has earned recognition for her expertise in providing consultation and the placement of employee benefits insurance for employer groups. She is an active participant in the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and has assisted in product development for several national health insurance companies. She has earned an excellent reputation for her strong servicing skills and compassion for her clients’ needs.

Since 1990 Debra has represented numerous architectural and engineering firms in the placement of employee benefit insurance. She represents the major health insurance carries including the national ACEC Life and Health Trust. She continues to be an active participant in many architect and engineer human resources round tables and is invited to speak at professional association meetings to educate employers about contribution levels and product offerings.

Debra is married and has two children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.

Glenn has more than 20 years of commercial insurance and risk management experience. Glenn’s expertise is in the placement of insurance coverage for design professionals, accountants and aviation related firms.  Glenn has extensive experience with underwriting and placement of OCIP & Project Specific professional liability coverage for architects & engineers.  

Prior to joining PCIA, Glenn’s clientele consisted of design firm’s of all sizes including many of the largest firms based in Indiana.  He was active in Indiana’s ACEC and AIA associations and a member of the national association Professional Liability Agents Network (PLAN).   During his tenure in Indiana, Glenn successfully negotiated and placed the state’s first Owner’s Protective Professional Liability coverage for a 1.2 billion dollar project.  Glenn also assisted INDOT in drafting standard contracts for both traditional and design/build projects.  He served as a committee member for the Juliet Peddle Award (AIA).  He was also an annual guest speaker for Purdue University’s graduating Civil Engineering classes.  He participated in speaking engagements at various associations and client sponsored meetings as well as publishing his recent ACEC article “Are Your Projects Covered in the Other 49?” 

Glenn graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Aviation Management and completed insurance courses at the College of Insurance in Manhattan, NY.  He assisted the start-up of People Express Airlines in 1982 at Newark International Airport, NJ and Melbourne, Florida.

Glenn enjoys spending time with his two sons Brian and Brad.  Both sons are very active in sports with soccer leading the way.

Sharon is an accomplished insurance professional. With over 20 years of specialization in the professional liability insurance arena for accountants and lawyers, she epitomizes the high caliber of individuals employed by Professional Concepts Insurance Agency (PCIA).

A Vice President with PCIA, she holds a Michigan Property & Casualty License and a Life & Health License. In 1980, she received a Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation.

When not engaged in insurance activities, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is a member of the Plymouth Lions Club. She considers photography her fun hobby. Actively involved in the theatre, she is a 15-year member with the Village Players in Birmingham, MI, and has done everything from helping build a set to serving as president of the Playhouse Board of Directors.

With over 20 years of experience in insurance and over 15 years specializing in Professional Liability Insurance and Risk Management for the legal community, Lisa demonstrates the high caliber of individuals employed by Professional Concepts Insurance Agency.

Lisa is a licensed property and casualty producer.  Her role as Senior Vice President includes placement of insurance programs for Accountants and Lawyers as well as overseeing the Accountants and Lawyers department.   Lisa has developed an expertise in providing insurance placements tailored to the specific needs of mid-size and large professional firms.   

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys water sports, kickboxing and spending time with family and friends. 

Julie brings over fifteen years of diverse insurance experience to PCIA, including customer service, sales, underwriting, rating and service expertise from prior positions with two major insurance companies. 

Julie earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. She is a licensed Property and Casualty agent in several states PCIA serves. She has also earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designations.

Julie resides in Howell, Michigan with her husband Corey and two children. In her spare time, she and her family enjoy camping and traveling.

Tony has over 16 years of personal lines experience.  In his role at PCIA, Tony assists clients using PCIA's exclusive Personal Protection Program to identify risks and the appropriate risk management and insurance coverage needed. He also spends time with employers working with them to create value added offerings for their employees' personal insurance needs.

Tony enjoys working within the community representing PCIA in various community functions such as the United Way and Livingston County's Relay for Life.

He and his wife have 3 children and enjoy attending soccer games. They also enjoy relaxing with family and friends in northern Michigan.

Tony is licensed in property & casualty, life, accident, health and disability insurance.

Upon graduating from the University of Maryland, Michele began her insurance career as a Commercial Lines Account Manager. After a period as an at-home mom until their youngest son entered first grade, she refined her Account Management skills over a 10-year period with a suburban Philadelphia firm.

PCIA is extremely pleased to have Michele on our team. Our professional clientele have come to expect the very best from Michele as she serves many of PCIA's largest architect and engineering clients.  Michele’s education and experience enables her to meet those expectations. Michele is a licensed Property & Casualty agent and earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

She and her husband have two sons. Besides spending time with her family (which includes their dog), Michele enjoys reading, bowling and travel.

Trish provides support services for Agency Account Managers and services PCIA's clients for their professional liability insurance needs.

Trish was recently married and lives with her husband and their cat Lucky in Howell, Michigan. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, art and traveling.

Kim Lewellen services PCIA's clients for their business insurance needs.  Kim's expertise is in the property, liability, workers compensation, business auto and umbrella coverage.

Kim's background includes six years as an associate underwriter with a local insurance company and over ten years of experience as a Business Account Manager for an independent insurance agency.

In her spare time she enjoys being with her family, gardening and reading.

When Melva joined PCIA in 2006, she brought with her 12 years of insurance experience.  She completed a life long dream by graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing in 1995.

She is our Office Coordinator and works with the entire staff to help our daily procedures run smoothly.  Working with our Marketing Department, coordinating mailings, seminars and special projects are only a few of her duties.  If you have ever called into our main switchboard, you have heard her welcoming your phone call and seeing that you are attended to promptly.

Melva is married to Roger and they have 6 adult children and 5 beautiful grandkids.  Melva and Roger have traveled to every state in the continental U. S., riding on their motorcycle.  They promote motorcycle safety by speaking to community groups about sharing the road with all types of vehicles.

 

Donna is a new addition to the team at PCIA.  Donna has been in the insurance industry for 5 years, and was licensed in Property and Casualty Insurance in 2004.  Donna is responsible for the Personal lines customer service and policy management. 

In her free time, Donna enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs.

Barb Wasalaski has over 15 years experience in an independent insurance agency setting.  Barb has many years experience in the accounting field with working in public accounting firms and also in private firms.  Barb will be handling all of our day-to-day accounting for our clients and PCIA. 

Barb is a graduate of Lake Superior State University.  She has been married to her husband Rick for over 20 years and they have one grown son, Matt.  In their leisure time they enjoy camping, hiking, geocaching and spending time with their son and three Labradors.

Leah has over 15 years of experience as an office administrator. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1994.  At PCIA, Leah oversees the day to day operations of the agency, including keeping PCIA's State-of-the-Art technology running smoothly.

Leah is proud to have been married to her husband Robert for 15 years. Robert and Leah have 2 sons. They enjoy as a family, skiing, boating, traveling, movies and family outings.
